PAL Adds More Flights from Cebu as Travel Demand Surges

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced an expansion of its flight operations from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) to accommodate rising passenger traffic. The flag carrier is adding more frequencies on select domestic and international routes, providing travelers with greater flexibility and convenience.

Increased Domestic Flights

PAL will boost its Cebu-Manila services, offering up to six daily flights starting April 2025. The airline is also increasing flights between Cebu and other major Philippine destinations, including:

• Cebu-Davao (additional daily flight)

• Cebu-General Santos (increased to four weekly flights)

These enhancements aim to support business and leisure travel while improving inter-regional connectivity.

Expanded International Routes

To cater to the growing outbound market, PAL is adding more flights from Cebu to key international hubs:

• Cebu-Tokyo (Narita): Now operating daily (previously five times weekly)

• Cebu-Osaka (Kansai): Increased to five weekly flights

• Cebu-Seoul (Incheon): Additional flights for peak travel seasons

Meeting Rising Demand

PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley K. Ng stated, "The increased flight frequencies from Cebu reflect the strong recovery of air travel and the growing importance of Cebu as a major gateway. We are committed to supporting economic growth and tourism by providing more travel options."

The expansion aligns with MCIA’s efforts to position Cebu as a premier transit hub in the Visayas. Airport authorities have welcomed PAL’s move, citing its positive impact on tourism and trade.
