2GO Travel to Launch New Manila–Siargao Route Starting October 20

Manila, Philippines – August 5, 2025 – Travelers heading to the surfing capital of the Philippines will soon have a new and convenient way to reach the island paradise. 2GO Travel has announced the launch of its new Manila–Siargao route, set to begin operations on October 20, 2025.

In an interview on Tuesday, Francis Chua, Business Unit Head for 2GO Travel, revealed that the company will deploy its vessel MV Saint Francis Xavier, which boasts a 1,900-passenger capacity, to serve the new route.

The vessel will operate once a week, departing from Manila every Monday and arriving in Siargao every Tuesday. This direct sea connection is expected to provide both tourists and locals with an affordable and scenic travel alternative to reach the island, which is famous for its world-class waves, pristine beaches, and vibrant local culture.

“We are excited to connect Manila to Siargao by sea,” said Chua. “This new route will not only offer travelers a more relaxed journey but will also help boost tourism and support the local economy of Siargao.”

Siargao, dubbed the “Surfing Capital of the Philippines,” has long been a favorite destination for local and international tourists. The addition of a direct sea route is anticipated to increase accessibility, especially for those seeking a more leisurely and budget-friendly mode of travel compared to air transport.
