MANILA - Captain Antonette Ortiz Parocha, a female Filipino co-pilot, flies with low cost carrier Viet Jet Air, the privately owned new-age airline to be established in Vietnam in 2011.

The airline flies domestic and regional routes with a fleet of 24 aircraft that average no more than 3 years old, and flies to 33 destinations.

Captain Parocha, a native of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, is the first female pilot in Vietnam and she has been flying commercially in that country for the last 1-1/2 years.

She flies regularly to China, Korea, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore and also domestic flights to Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Danang.
